Dot pitch verses pixel pitch
Dot pitch refers to the physical distance between each LED. Pixel pitch refers to the distance between each group of red, green and blue LEDs that comprise a single pixel. In screens using 3 LEDs, dot pitch and pixel pitch are the same. In screens using 4, they are sometimes different due to a technique used to increase the perceived resolution of the screen called "pixel sharing" or "virtual pixel". In this technique, a "new" pixel is created by sharing 2 colours from the pixel on either side
